What Is In-Home Christian Science Nursing?

In-Home Christian Science nursing (as available) is care provided away from the facility, wherever the patient happens to be-at home, in an assisted living facility, at an airport – wherever the need is. A Journal-listed Christian Science nurse is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, to respond to sudden needs, to schedule regular visits for preventative care, and to support an individual’s ability to remain in the home.

  • Dressing and bandaging of wounds for cleanliness, protection, comfort
  • Caring for children as well as adults
  • Instruction in proper care for meeting individual needs
  • Helping with meal preparation
  • Free assessment of care needs
  • Loans of equipment for mobility
  • Instruction to families in how to support the patient
  • Reading the Bible Lesson and Christian Science literature
  • Helping with baths, shampoos, and other personal care
  • Shopping for groceries and personal items

Other Resources

We can assist in locating private duty Christian Science nurses, if extended care is needed. We can also help find community resources that support an individual staying in their home or moving to their next residence.

Equipment Loans

The Leaves often loans equipment on a temporary basis such as:

  • Wheelchairs
  • Walkers
  • Crutches
  • Portable commodes
  • Shower chairs

We are happy to help with such temporary needs once the need has been assessed by our C.S. nursing staff.
