Hello Friends!
Welcome to the beginning of a simple, weekly source of “Daily Shade” from The Leaves – a Christian Science nursing and care facility in Texas.
With this, my toe is officially in the social network “water.” I hope you enjoy watching a “digital immigrant” learn to grow from the digital natives out there.
I’m excited. I see lots of promise and progress. I believe non-trivial dialogue makes a difference in life. It can build relationships that last. It can show what’s in a heart in ways that bridge differences.
And first – Our Christian Science nursing and care facility in Richardson, Texas is a hidden gem. It is a Christian ministry offered to those who have chosen to rely solely on God for physical healing – demonstrating “Christian Mind-healing” as Mary Baker Eddy puts it. Our facility also is blessed to have permanent residents – Christian Scientists in residence – who have made a commitment to support our work through their prayers while enjoying the comforts of a beautiful home.
Everyone comes through the doors of our in-patient and out-patient facility with an expectation of quick and permanent healing. Patients and practitioners work together for such healing. The staff supports them 24/7 by maintaining a cheerful and orderly atmosphere where healing remains the expected outcome.
Everyone has a healing home here as long as we can provide proper care. But not everyone who comes through our doors comes with sufficient insurance or private funds to cover the cost of our services. In these cases, we work to find people like you to help our ministry and support the growing need to provide benevolence.
Take a peek inside to put a face to our work at The Leaves.
